I am a bit of an amateur poet and here is something I quickly wrote about my dreams for 2020. (It ended up more like a rap!)

I think we need

20 20 vision.

But not from the point

Of any optician.

No, I’m not meaning

Visual acuity,

I’m talking about hope

For all of humanity.

So what should it be,

Our 20 20 vision?

We need to challenge

Every politician,

To put the needs of others

As a top priority.

Let me make it clear

And provide some clarity,

Our hopes for the future,

The 20 20 vision,

Should be inspirational

Not attract derision.

Our parliament has failed us,

All politically.

We need to come together

And do something dramatically.

So the starting point is,

For a 20 20 vision,

Let’s all work together

With a laser precision.

Let us all celebrate

Our country’s diversity.

Remember faith,

Hope and charity.

How do we create

Our 20 20 Vision?

Supporting each other

Must be our decision.

Both with a passion

And with rationality

We must earn our place

In a global community

To drive forward,

Our 20 20 Vision,

We must lose the language

Of difference and division;

And come together

As one community

And believe in love

For all eternity.
